Ilustration Supposing Books Accidental Death of an Anarchist

In its first two years of production, Dario Fo's controversial farce, Accidental Death of an Anarchist, was seen by over half a million people. It has since been performed all over the world and is widely recognised as a classic of modern drama. A sharp and hilarious satire on political corruption, it concerns the case of an anarchist railway worker who, in 1969, 'fell' to his death from a police headquarters window.

This version of the play was premiered in London in 2003.

Evaluate Appertaining To Books Accidental Death of an Anarchist
Dario Fo's superb political farce is a brilliant piece of fierce, politically motivated comic writing that works very well on the page as well as on stage. Taking as its context a terrorist incident in Milan and the death of a police suspect who jumped out of a fourth floor window to his death, Accidental Death of an Anarchist turns many things upside down to create a hillarious and angry piece of subversive literature. Instead of the aggressive police investigation that drove a suspect to his

The Accidental Death of an Anarchist is a fabulous, interesting play. I'm still chuckling over how to explain it. On one hand it's actually quite horrible- it's based on true events, and the farcical nature of how the events are dealth with are insulting to humanity (it's quite honestly that bad!) But on the other hand, the absurdity is also hilarious. So, what to do. One must keep in mind that the humour of the absurdity masking the blatant AWEFULNESS was precisely what Fo intended. The

An amazing, hilarious and sadly relevant take on government corruption, unethical journalism and most importantly, police violence. This play uses elements of satire and well implemented slapstick comedy to make a thorough social commentary on how a corrupt society covers up its crimes.A hilarious read yet oddly sad.

Brilliant. Scathing. Rich in possibility for actors, designers, and audiences. American theatre does not have nearly enough political satire.

Deriving from the case of Giuseppe Pinelli, a Milanese railway employee, who in 1969 was picked up by the police, accused of a bombing, before plunging from a fourth-floor window to his death, (later he was finally absolved from any responsibility for the bombings), Italian Playwright and left-wing activist Dario Fo has turned dull political theatre into a lively Marx bothers style slap-stick farce. It plays out at a pacy dynamic speed, (reading in one go is probably wise), contains some

Set in the revolutionary times of 1969, this book has a lot of depth and originality, and there's much more to it than meets the eye.
