Narration During Books Jeweler's Apprentice (Five Gems #1)

Fia Brithin is beginning an adventure.

On her first visit to the King Hanor's palace, 16 year old Fia Brithin stumbles into a court intrigue. To keep the secret safe, the Chancelor sends her off as apprentice to a famous, and reclusive, high mountain jeweler.
...And straight into adventure.
Discovering gems with deep secrets and new friends with the same, Fia learns a whole lot more than just modeling wax. When to trust a stranger, and when not to; why not to try stealing from gem thieves; what heroism is, what royalty ought to be, and that the mountains themselves can sometimes be the greatest danger of all.

The first in a series, Jeweler's Apprentice introduces protagonist Fia Brithin to the wide, wide world, and starts her on a journey toward adventures, and that difficult thing called growing up.

Jeweler's Apprentice by E. Kaiser Writes is the first book to what I can see is going to be a lovely fantasy series! In a beautiful, fantastical world, a young girl travels to the palace with her family. While there, she unintentionally becomes caught up in court intrigue. Which turns out to be quite dangerous. And gets her sent on an adventure.Think jewels, dwarves, mysteries, wars, and sweetly budding friendships. Gentle and epic swirled together. More lyrical, "older" writing style. Jeweler's

I stalled on reading this because I'd had some bad experiences with indie-published fantasy and the cover didn't attract me very much. But I finally decided to brave it and I'm glad I did. This was a fun adventure in a fantasy-ish world . . . but without as much scariness or fighting or life and death situations as most fantasy books.Though the writing had the potential to be stronger, I enjoyed the author's style and unique characters. Even with a fairly large cast, I could kee them straight

Age Appropriate For: All AgesI met Elizabeth online not too long after I started Homeschool Authors. I have had her book on my Kindle waiting to read, but something always kept me from it. When her next book comes out, nothing will keep me from it. I cant wait to find out what happens next! This is Elizabeths first book, and at points it shows. There were a couple of weak spots where I wasnt exactly sure what was going on. However, those were few and far between and did little to detract from the

Loved this book! It was sort of old-fashionedly written, and though it was all one story, at times it felt like a bunch of stories made into one. No magic and a clean moral story, perfect for a family reading book. One thing I didn't like (this is sort of a spoiler, but not really) is the main character thought she was very sensitive toward people (and for the most part Fia was) but when someone told her his brother was dead and he was very upset about it to the point of being angry Fia didn't

I found this story captivating from the very start. Elizabeth Kaisers writing voice is unique, engaging, and picturesque. Her descriptions are elegant, quenching my thirst for good prose. They contribute to her skilled crafting of a scene. The story and its well thought-out world seem set in a historical background. And of course, the intrigue keeps one guessing and anxious to find out what is going on. I particularly liked the parts when Fia, the main character, was in the mountains at Olayin
