Evaluate Epithetical Books In Gallant Company (Richard Bolitho #5)
Excellent read. Always great history and an in depth look at life aboard 18th and 19th century ships. Great character profiles with a story that flows and keeps you reading.

Great read!Has to be a clear five stars. A great read that I couldn't put down. Have to say - better than Hornblower, Lewrie etc. More about the people and their feelings. It's good to read about vulnerability, rather than just their brave deeds. It makes it "real", to some extent, and you makes you wonder what the lives of those of the period were really like.

I started out a bit disappointed with this book. First of all, for a historical novel, it has a major mistake in the opening pages. However, the author, in setting the stage for the book states that the British have occupied both New York AND Philadelphia. This, of course, is not the case. The British only sent an expeditionary force to Philadelphia in September,

It is 1777 as Lieutenant Richard Bolitho, nearly 21, is assigned to the 76 gun TROJAN stationed in New York harbor as part of the British naval force supporting operations against the rebelling Americans. Another exciting naval story as the TROJAN sails on assignments to the North Atlantic and then in the Caribbean. Story filled with various adventures as Bolitho continues to distinguish himself as an officer.
