Rich Boy Cries for Momma is a heart felt book that takes you to the insides of the punk rock scene in DC and its crazy dynamics. The book is very well written, and got me interested since the beginning, took me back to my own teen years feeling rejected by all the normal people and finding a place within the freaks. But my punk rock teen years were not even close as violent as the ones that Ethan lived, the stories inside haunted me every night and make me think a lot, especially about women

I really enjoyed the book, I felt like it ended sort of abruptly but that was probably intended. A really good 'growing up' story told from a punk point of view. Great characters.

To me, this book is more than a "coming-of-age tale." When I hear that phrase, I'm lead to believe that you've arrived at a firm place in life and the box of adolescence can be checked off. In first person autobiographical narrative, Minsker often cruelly describes characters and life situations in a way thats just as shocking as the picture he draws. Vivid language doesnt stop Minsker from describing his early childhood in Washington D.C. when he found out about his dyslexia.
