Column Out Of Books Promethea (Promethea #3)
Volume 3 of Promethea can also be called as "Alan Moore's fruity-weird beliefs are just amalgams of different philosophies, religions and new age-esque concepts." It's just a long imagination roller coaster. But the artwork and colors are as great as ever.

Where to start...It's fascinating stuff, Moore's theories on existence, humanity, God, life and all of that. Some went over my head, some were sublimely profound, some seemed absurdly goofy, but it all made for an engaging, very challenging read.Parts of Promethea's Kaballah tour seemed to bog down, narratively, but Williams ASTONISHING artwork kept my interest engaged and my short attention span excited, if only to see how he would visualize and structure the next moment of this remarkable

Interesting volume three. I liked a lot the whole chromatic scheme in the issues inside of the TPB. Obviously it will start with blues since this is something important for Alan Moore and he did some similar stuff on Swamp Thing. Also, it was good to see the rest of colors like green, gold, and red. And you can appreciate that the intensity of the colors are increasing on each story. A little of development of the replacement Promethea left on Earth and some new interesting characters.

It's rather tryingly didactic, though I suppose that has the virtue of providing a better means for some people to get a handle on the correspondences of Hermetic Qabala a la Crowley than the more typical, tedious manner of attempting to memorize the tables from 777 by brute force. Also, the aesthetics are better.

I don't know how someone doesn't fall into the art and feel themselves dragged thru the imagination of Alan Moore on tarot, religion, love, life, lust, hell, numerology, etc. etc. etc. I think this series is among his masterpieces. Something I want to have in my library always!

I enjoyed this one a lot more than volume three.I mean, the plot is still just an excuse for Moore to lecture us on his beliefs, but the artwork is stunning and I have to say I'm interested, even if a lot of it does go right over my head. Also, this one doesn't feature tantric sex with a greasy old man in an occultist shop, which has to be a plus. When I have money I'll get the next two volumes.

The saga of Promethea continues in Volume Three of the five book series.Promethea, the version embodied by Sophie Bangs, has embarked on an adventure through the myriad worlds of the Tree of Life. She seeks another of the avatars of Promethea who recently died. Together, they hope to find the deceased woman's husband and learn about the occult on the way.Meanwhile, back in the real world, Sophie has left someone unexpected in charge of keeping the baddies at bay while she's away.
