Chronicle Supposing Books Dicht op de hielen
'Mrs.

I was really disappointed with this book. I understand it's a very early work of Gerritsen's so she is forgiven! This shows itself in the overused phrases and what I consider poor wording choices. We are told the main character is plain not beautiful very early on in the story we dont need it repeated every two pages or by every male character she encounters.Worth reading = yes if you like Gerritsen as it shows how far she has come.
I love the writing of Tess Gerritsen and have read virtually everything she has ever released so it was inevitable that I would get round to reading this book. I enjoyed it and it was fairly well written but if I am honest it's wasn't at the same high standard of most of her other books. Not sure if it's one of her early books written before she established herself but there was something not quite right. Simon Dance, alias Geoffrey Fontaine, fakes his death in a hotel fire in Berlin. His wife

Having read some of Gerritsen's recent novels, I picked up this unabridged audiobook from the library for a road trip. The suspense/thriller part of the plot was good, as I expected, but I was confused by what seemed to be anachronisms: referring to the "KGB" and "East Germany", using pay phones not cell phones. The pseudo-soft-core "romantic" scenes were just plain annoying. Looking the book up on Amazon I found that Call after Midnight was originally published as a Harlequin novel in 1987! --
I am in a reading slump at the moment and that's why I wanted to pick something fun, fast-paced and entertaining. This book was all of those things and I really enjoyed reading this book. I knew that Tess Gerritsen writes books which are half chick lit and half thrillers. I enjoyed the thriller part a lot but I was not fan of the romance. The romance was insta love for me. The author also told multiple times that Sarah is very smart person but I think Sarah made many "stupid" desicions in the
I first read this book in 2016 when I was filling in time while being almost confined to home. Also, let me say that I am a tremendous fan of Tess Gerritsen. So that said -Simon Dance, aka Geoffrey Fontaine, fakes his own death in a hotel fire while in Berlin. When his wife of two months, Sarah, receives a late night call from a State Department employee, Nick O'Hara she is convinced it is a mistake. By the time she has heard all the facts discovered by O'Hara, she realises she didn't know her
