Explanation Conducive To Books Война и мир. Том 2 (War and Peace, 4 Volumes)

At the beginning of this second volume, nothing goes for the Emperor Alexander, tsar of all the Russias, because this nasty cockroach of Napoleon is trying to eat wool on his back...
Nothing goes for Prince André Bolkonski after his disappointments in love, he seemed to have found the taste for everything, he seems to have no taste for anything, except perhaps to quash his vengeance with the kidnapper of his beautiful...
Nothing goes well for Nicolas Rostov who after his youthful enthusiasm for the things of the army and the fight in the years 1805 and 1807, discovers with melancholy, in this year 1812, the reality behind the fronts of all that, and receive a medal; a medal for what? For almost killing a man? For breaking orders? For having very little bravery? Is this this military cross?...
Nothing is more right for Natasha Rostov; her future love seems broken, she does not know where she is, both in her feelings and her life...
Nothing goes more for Pierre Bézoukhov, who wades more than ever in the wandering, not knowing which ideology to devote ...
You see that Lev Tolstoy did well with his mayonnaise and, after a second book cradled by the auspices of peace, the Franco-Russian war of 1812 is in the three books (advanced French in Russian territory, Borodino and taken from Moscow ) and four (fire of Moscow and retreat of the French), the ideal canvas for the author wishing to unfold his theory on the insignificance of individual destinies when taken in the course of history (developed in the form of essay in the epilogue).
Tolstoy includes in this sense individual destinies as large as those of Napoleon or Alexander. According to him, it is the inextricable set of causes and effects combined that produce the story and not the individual decisions, whatever they may be.
The story passes, like a big steamroller, inexorable, and the individuals move on the surface of the roll, believing that the march of their destiny or the roller depends on them, and on them alone. (Incidentally, I strongly advise the little chapter of historical analysis of the Russian campaign that you will find in the first chapter of the second part of the third book, I know, it's a bit complicated as a denomination, but ultimately simpler it seems.)
A vision to which we can adhere or not, but in any case, a very distanced and interesting reading of history and historical events in general, not to mention a narration of the highest order, which is enough to make a sacred monster of world literature, that it is good to have read, at least once in his little life of reader driven by the flow of history. At least that's my opinion, so to speak, not much.

Notice Appertaining To Books Война и мир. Том 2 (War and Peace, 4 Volumes)
This is the second volume of War and Peace! I think it took me a year to read both I & II wth a "few" other (lighter) novels in between. But I canhonestly say Iread War & Peace through to page 1444!

Sweeping story once you figure out the names. A little long but getting through it and enjoyed the story line. Lots of spot on characters!

This is it, I finished reading War and Peace! Once again, the battles parts were a bit hard for me to get through, even though they were described brilliantly. I absolutely loved reading about these characters' journeys and reading the epilogue made me a bit sad, considering I have to say goodbye now.

Just blown away really! I love how much of this is about deconstructing the unconscious rules and reasons that lead to the actions or inactions of the characters and the historical events. Pierre is a beautiful metaphor for being guided by elements he is barely aware of and cannot control. It resonated with me because in a way it felt the same as the feminist task to dismantle patriarchal assumptions that guide our lives. And yayay Nicolai/Maria and excuse me while I just pretend Denisov/Sonya

This is volume two of this tome. Finishing it was a major literary accomplishment. As I read this book, I kept track of my progress on a Tolstoy Facebook page. Unfortunately, that group was revamped, and that journey was deleted. War and Peace isn't just a novel, it is a philosophical treatise as well. The story and the history are easy in comparison and are just the background for his real purpose. Tolstoy wrote other books on religion and art which I haven't read. Judging from parts of War and

The only regret I have is that I did not read this years ago. Wait... another regret is that I don't have the persuasive powers to encourage my reading friends to enjoy the investment it takes to read this classic. I am glad I had 9-10 hours a week on my bike to enjoy this very well read audio book. I am sure I would have enjoyed the writing, but I loved listening to the performance.
