VIRGINIA REVIEW****************************This is first book in a new series. It is a starts with the war that the Pack and Covens have been fighting for centuries. Dorian is a fire cracker and will not take any bull for any one. Dorian does not know what is going on with him and why he is fully attracted to Kevyan, the king of the vampires. You see a wonderful story weave with love and angst for what the war is doing to everyone. You see what someone will do you make sure that there is peace

Rating: 3.5 starsDespite the fact that this story had many problems, I really enjoyed it. I liked the MCs. Dorian was a bit over the top, but I liked him. I thought they had good chemistry together. Yes, it was major insta-lust which turned into insta-love but that is par for the course with these stories, so it didnt bother me. I think my major gripe was that the timing of events was a little obscure at times. Also, the author could have elaborated more on some of the events that were glossed

The description for 'The Vampire King's Mate' appealed to me as I always enjoy those disparate matings. Particularly in this world where vampires and werewolves despise each other and have for centuries been waging war on one another mercilessly. King Kevyan Melrose has been trying to come up with a way to make peace with the wolves but so far none of the council members have found an agreeable solution. When an injured werewolf shows up at the gates of his estate, instead of having him killed,

First, what was WRONG with this story... (at least a few points that I made note of along the way)A werewolf is on the edge of death and only you (a vampire) can save him (pretty sure just giving him some of your blood would do the trick) by having sex with him while he is gasping for breath... yeah, this didn't work for me... How in the world do these two talk with a mouth full of cock? Where does Dorian keep getting his clothes from? One would think he would've bought some when he went

The plot revolves around the mating of a werewolf (Dorian), and a vampire (King Kevyan). I really liked Dorian, because he was such a little spit fire with a lot of personality, and some special magic. It was very enjoyable, and it had no cliffhangers, which I hate. The little girl in the story was adorable also, and I loved the supportive cast of characters. The ones that I didn't like were severely dealt with. Yay! :) I was truly pulled into the story, and the romance was so precious. :)
