Ever feel like you just don't know what to do after you finish an epic series? That's how I feel right now. I don't think I could have asked for a better ending to this series. These books have taught me so much about learning to see things with an open mind. In world that is filled with hate and intolerance, these books give me hope for a better tomorrow. A world where we can see past skin color and beliefs. I think we could all learn to be more like Rho. Romina, thank you for writing such anThree words. Emotionally. Abusive. Relationship.Rho is weak, y'all. And Hysan... Hysan is way too giving and selfless. He deserved better.Look. I've supported this series from the start. Even with the disgusting love triangle in books 1-2 (and some of 3), I still stuck with the series. But this book... this one was supposed to be the best in the series for me (with Rho having "chosen" a guy -- ew, btw, and the big showdown coming). This book was kind of a mess. It might have been better if the
I'm 19 hours awake so this review may be revised one day but here goes:This finale was really good, but also had some points that made it a little weaker. Namely that Rho regresses and then progresses in some of the same ways she did prior to the book; I think the idea was to display that Rho isn't infallible or above mistakes despite growth, but some parts came off as just happening for the sake of squeezing in one last conflict.Overall, an engaging read that kept my attention locked on the

This was a thoroughly fun twisty turney (not sure if that's a word) action packed ending to Rho's story. I'll be honest it's going to be sad to see these worlds that Ms. Russell created no longer breathe life-- (but perhaps the other side saw something in the skies and may investigate or perhaps there are unknown repercussions to Rho's last encounter with Ochus... when you read it you'll know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.) Romi, I can't wait for the next adventure, bring it on!
The first two books were good for some YA fun and the third book departed from that slightly. This last book had the main character become the least likable person in the story. Rho was selfish, hypocritical, and the farthest from a competent or inspiring leader. Shes gone through a lot in the series but she devolved completely by the end. Everyone treated her with an inconceivable and unrealistic trust and respect after her betrayal and what she did to Hysan (and even the way they ended up with
"Whatever we do, we always end up back here. It's just our nature. He drops my hand, and the warmth in my skin recedes, like the sea's tide pulling away from the shore. And now that it's gone, I identify the feeling. It's closure. " -Thirteen Rising ^Accurately describes how I feel now that the series is done. (sad closure btw, but also good closure knowing I could always go back.)The world-building in the first book, Zodiac, sealed my interest to continue reading the rest of the series, along
This book was so good! It was a great series conclusion: it had lots of action, new character development, a unique story, and best of all a good ending. And by good I don't mean "they all lived happily ever after," I mean more like, "all of the loose ends are ACTUALLY tied up."Let's start with one of my favorite topics: the villains. One of the reasons I love this series so much is you never know whom to trust. Literally, every single book my perspective was changing. The villain of book one
