Yup. C. J. Box is one of my favorite authors. This series features good guy Joe Pickett, a game warden in Wyoming. The books have rich descriptions of the mountains and plains and the wildlife. Joe is an Everyman who is sometimes foolishly brave even when he is scared. This book has action right out of the gate. Joe is patrolling the mountains solo looking someone who may be poaching elk.
