About Trench Coats, Episode II: Jacob’s Story

Building on the highly acclaimed Trench Coats, Episode I: The Meeting , the second episode finds Pia Sabel asking Agent Jacob Milik to research the attempt on her life. Certain she’s conjuring up a nutcase conspiracy theory, he changes his mind when she disappears off the streets of Washington DC and someone throws a bomb in his car.

Agent Jacob might be a ladies man who has a crush on his boss, but he’s all business now that she’s in danger. He methodically follows the clues that bring him ever closer to her, discovering shadowy connections to ousted CIA officers, State Department appointees, and questionable asylum approvals. But everything points to a bigger question: What connects a State Department appointee to Syrian refugees and child traffickers?

Seely James has created a character that one will hardly forget. It's plot is well-built and has all the elements of luring a reader. I loved the well-grounded story that has the elements of suspense and thrill.A great read. Five stars.

I really enjoy the change in the point of view in episode two. Seeing things through Jacob's eyes is a great twist! There's a lot to learn from this perspective and it's really amping up the tension as we realize Pia is not infallible. What greater mystery to solve than trying to find your missing boss and save her butt? Add some high quality a$$ kicking... I call it a win!

His near-death experiences range from talking a jealous husband into putting the gun down to spinning out on an icy freeway in heavy traffic without touching anything. His resume ranges from washing dishes to global technology management. His personal life stretches from homeless at 17, adopting a 3-year-old at 19, getting married at 37, fathering his last child at 43, hiking the Grand Canyon

GReat book and an easy read. The fun continues with some great mystery. I think I know what happens next, but The Geneva Decision had so many twists, I'm not really really sure. This installment is told by Jacob in first person. It is a big departure from the first story (episode?). I love his perspective on the other characters. It's refreshing and respectful, even if he is a playboy. But he's a good playboy because he made a pass at a middle aged woman! :)I like it. I can't wait for the next
